How I intend to complete my EPQ:
September: Initial planning stage- researching information to ensure my topic has enough research surrounding it to be able to research it in depth at a later stage. Plan out initial ideas, timeline etc.
October: Begin to note down various sites/research articles that may be useful to my study (however these may not all be used), complete relevant EPQ paperwork, be assigned to a mentor.
November: Decide on how I will collect my own data (survey on the Tupton Hall youth) and come up with insightful questions which would give an in-depth look into the social media habits of the younger generation. also gather some definitive secondary sources to match this survey.
December: Create the finished primary research survey, and begin to evaluate how effective it will be when combined with my secondary sources, to ensure they suggest useful insights to my topic.
January: Evaluate amount of data collected- is there enough? If yes, begin compiling information into graphical forms and presenting the data. if no, evaluate options of collecting either more primary or secondary data.
February: Begin plan of how video presentation will go, and evaluate over techniques and potential media theorists to support my data.
March: Compile data into relevant graphs - add to video as and when completed, film around school for clips to use as background / research for online clips.
April: Finish editing video, begin evaluation of video and project as a whole.
May: Finished & submitted project.
